Legal Experience:

Kate has a particular interest in parenting matters and provides advice and representation in the Family Court of Western Australia for private fee paying and Legally Aided clients in relation to divorce, financial and parenting matters under the Family Law Act 1975 (Cth) and Family Court Act 1997 (WA).

In addition to her work in the Family Court, Kate regularly appears in the Perth Children’s Court in a range of Care and Protection matters. She also appears in the Perth Magistrates and District Court for adult Criminal matters and Violence Restraining Order Proceedings.

During 2009 Kate completed work experience with a sole practitioner in the area of Criminal Law.

Volunteer Work:

Prior to moving to WA from Tasmania in 2010, Kate was actively involved in volunteer work for Advocacy Tasmania, for whom she provided assistance to mental health plaintiffs in action against health providers and detention centres.
