Caris Tysoe

Caris graduated from Edith Cowan University with a Bachelor of Laws and was admitted to practice in 2013.

She began her career as a law student in the community legal sector, where she worked primarily in the area of family law, but also in restraining order matters, criminal and traffic matters, minor civil matters, and applications for criminal injuries compensation.

Caris then joined the private legal sector where she has represented private paying and legally-aided clients at all stages of their family law proceedings, including formal and informal dispute resolution processes, preparation of documents, and hearings of all levels in the Family Court of Western Australia, including appearing as counsel at trial hearings.  She is experienced in both parenting disputes and financial matters, including those involving more complex issues such as international or interstate relocation of children, international and interstate disputes and issues of jurisdiction and forum, and enforcement issues.

Caris uses her versatile background in the law to provide clients with an outcome-focused approach to their issues, even where their legal matters traverse different areas of law.

Caris is a member of the Family Law Practitioner’s Association of Western Australia, the Law Society of Western Australia and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia.
